Commentary: The third virtue. Comprehensively subsuming the six perfections, their cultivation of causes first reaches completion. Among the seven supremacies, the supremacy of non-defilement is called 'purity'. Or, it refers to the purity of the three wheels (trimaṇḍalapariśuddhi); as in the Sandhinirmocana and other texts, each of the six perfections has ten kinds of purity, which are extensively explained there. Cultivating constantly without abandoning them is called 'taking joy in upholding them', which refers to long-term aspiration. Among the seven supremacies and the six aspirations, one of each is mentioned to indicate the remainder.
