2.114

經　「復作是｀念：『於無量劫諸佛如來出現於世，如烏曇跋華時乃一現。』彼諸眾生發希有心、起難遭想，若遇如來，心生＇敬信。」

Sūtra: "They further reflect: 'In boundless eons, the buddhas, the Tathāgatas, appear in the world just as the uḍumbara blossom only appears at times.' Those sentient beings generate a rare thought and give rise to the notion of [the Tathāgata being] difficult to encounter; if they meet the Tathāgata, their minds give rise to veneration and faith.
