The commentary states: The upper two lines praise the Buddha's wisdom and compassion. 'Great majesty and virtue' is the virtue of wisdom, possessing all supernormal powers and so forth; 'able to rescue and protect' is the virtue of compassion, because he benefits the world. 'I shall now explain in due order' states what is to be explained. What is to be explained is the three bodies of the Buddha. In the chapter on the Fruit of Wisdom in Asabhāva's commentary on the Mahāyānasaṃgraha, it says: 'It should be known that the dharmakāya has briefly five marks: first, the mark of fundamental transformation; second, the mark of being constituted by pure phenomena; third, the mark of non-duality; fourth, the mark of permanence; fifth, the mark of being inconceivable.' These five meanings I shall now explain in due order.
