贊曰：舉違難。有三意：一云何名涅槃？二云何不入？三既不入，云何復言留身舍利？此舉二違，一違教、二違世間。世間，即過去諸佛現有舍利是。

Commentary: Raising a contradictory difficulty. There are three points: 1. why is it called nirvāṇa? 2. why is it that [the Buddha] does not enter [nirvāṇa]? 3. since he does not enter [it], why does it also say he leaves behind bodily relics? Here two contradictions are raised: first, contradicting the teaching; second, contradicting the world. The world means the actual relics of past buddhas.
