Sūtra: "First, because all Buddha Tathāgatas have ultimately and completely severed all affliction obstacles and cognitive obstacles, it is called nirvāṇa. Second, because all Buddha Tathāgatas thoroughly comprehend the naturelessness of sentient beings and the naturelessness of dharmas, it is called nirvāṇa. Third, because they can transform the basis of the body and the basis of dharmas, it is called nirvāṇa. Fourth, because they spontaneously rest the causes and conditions for converting sentient beings, it is called nirvāṇa. Fifth, because they realize the equal dharmakāya of true and undifferentiated characteristics, it is called nirvāṇa. Sixth, because they thoroughly understand that saṃsāra and nirvāṇa have no dual nature, it is called nirvāṇa. Seventh, because they thoroughly understand the root of all dharmas and realize purity, it is called nirvāṇa. Eighth, because they skillfully practice non-arising and non-cessation with respect to all dharmas, it is called nirvāṇa. Ninth, because they attain correct wisdom in the equality of tathatā, the dharmadhātu, and the limit of reality (bhūtakoṭi), it is called nirvāṇa. Tenth, because they attain non-differentiation regarding the nature of all dharmas and the nature of nirvāṇa, it is called nirvāṇa. These are the ten dharmas on which basis nirvāṇa is said to exist."
