贊曰：下明果位。初明除障得滿佛地，後顯佛地具三清淨。此即初也。除所知障，無間道斷二障微細種及習氣，就勝障菩提，云除所知障、除根本心，即種習所依。除染第七種，恒染俱故。無間道斷餘七有漏善及無記及相應心所，名根本心。第八通二依，六識唯習依，此斷有二說，如《唯識》第十明。

The commentary says: The following explains the stage of fruition. First it explains that by eliminating obstacles one attains the fulfilled buddha bhūmi; then it reveals that the buddha bhūmi possesses the three purities. This is the first. 'Eliminating the cognitive obstacle': on the uninterrupted path, one severs the subtle seeds and latent impressions (vāsanā) of the two obstacles. In terms of the superior obstacle to bodhi, it is called eliminating the cognitive obstacle. 'Eliminating the root mind': this is the support of the seeds and impressions. It eliminates the seeds of the defiled seventh [consciousness], because it is always associated with defilement. On the uninterrupted path, it severs the remaining seven tainted wholesome and neutral minds and their associated mental factors, which is called the root mind. The eighth consciousness serves as the support for both, whereas the six consciousnesses are the support only for impressions. There are two theories regarding this severance, as explained in the tenth fascicle of the Cheng weishi lun.
