贊曰：第二頌懺由憍慢等造惡罪業。一恃德尊高、二恃種姓貴勝、三恃多財、四恃官位、五恃盛年及長壽無病。自舉陵他，即因慢起惡，恃此醉傲。即由憍造惡，復行放逸，不能防修，故造惡業。

The Commentary says: The second stanza repents creating evil sinful karma through arrogance and so forth: first, relying on honour and high virtue; second, relying on the nobility of caste and lineage; third, relying on abundant wealth; fourth, relying on official rank; fifth, relying on prime years, long life, and absence of illness. Elevating oneself and transgressing against others: this is giving rise to evil through pride (māna); relying on these things, one becomes intoxicated and haughty: this is creating evil through arrogance (mada); further, practicing heedlessness and failing to guard against and cultivate [defilements and virtues]: thus one creates evil karma.
