贊曰：此有二德，初半頌讚遍智離染德、次半頌讚令證涅槃德。牟尼能以涅槃清涼，除眾生煩惱之熱故。

The Commentary states: Here there are two virtues: the first half-verse praises the virtue of pervasive wisdom being free of defilement; the second half-verse praises the virtue of causing the realization of nirvāṇa. Because the Muni is able to remove the fever of sentient beings' afflictions by means of the coolness of nirvāṇa.
