贊曰：第六、一多分別門。文亦分三：前門談體，此門說用。以諸異生異趣異見云意有多，隨意有多故現化身有種種相，或說八相、或隨諸類而以現形。設若二乘已得聖者，亦是一分異生，所知障在，故云隨所化眾生意。

Commentary: Sixth, the gate of distinguishing singularity and multiplicity. The text is also divided into three. The previous gate discussed essence; this gate explains function. Because diverse ordinary beings have different destinies and different views, it says that 'minds are of many kinds'; conforming to their being of many kinds, the manifested nirmāṇakāya has various marks, either explained as the eight aspects, or manifesting forms according to the various classes. Even if practitioners of the two vehicles have already attained noble status, they are still a category of ordinary being since the cognitive obscurations remain; hence it says 'conforming to the minds of the sentient beings to be transformed.'
