贊曰：懺業障。於中分三：初舉業障、次證佛證、後正懺悔。初中有三，謂總、別、結，如次三文。別中，初五逆業、「見有勝已」已下餘業。此初文也。依《薩遮尼乾子經》等，有大乘五逆。

Commentary: Confessing karmic hindrances. This is divided into three parts: first, presenting the karmic hindrances; second, invoking the Buddha as witness; and third, the confession itself. The first part has three sections: general, particular, and concluding, corresponding to the three subsequent passages. Within the particular section, first are the five deadly sins (ānantarya), and from "seeing others superior to oneself" onwards are the remaining karmas. This is the first passage. According to the Sūtra of Satyaka Nirgrantha-putra and other texts, there are the five deadly sins of the Mahāyāna.
