贊曰：第五逆也。謂長夜常行十不善業，初總舉明、後略別明。於諸善人下，略別明。生毀謗者，語不善業。斗稱欺誑、以偽為真，是盜業。不淨飲食施諸眾生，是貪不善業，惜好施惡故。更相惱害，嗔不善業。

Commentary: This is the fifth deadly sin. It refers to constantly performing the ten unwholesome karmas throughout the long night [of saṃsāra]. First it presents them generally, and then explains them briefly in detail. From "falsely maligning good people" onwards is the brief, detailed explanation. Maligning is verbal unwholesome karma. Cheating through measures and scales, and taking the fake as genuine, are karmas of theft. Giving impure food and drink to all sentient beings is unwholesome karma of greed, because one begrudges the good and gives the bad. Causing harm mutually is unwholesome karma of anger.
