贊曰：上略陳懺悔滅惡，已下廣明四行辨生善。於中分二：初明所除障、後明能除行。初中復三：初總標、次別徵、後別解。此初也。

Commentary: Above, repentance to extinguish evil was briefly set forth; below, the four practices to distinguish the arising of good are explained in detail. In this, there are two parts: first, explaining the hindrances to be eliminated; second, explaining the practices that can eliminate them. In the first part there are again three: first, general presentation; next, specific inquiry; last, specific explanation. This is the first.
