下指同諸佛。於中復二：初例四方、後總例。此初，西方舉三佛、東方舉五佛、南方亦舉五佛、北方舉八佛。

Commentary: Below is pointing to being identical with all buddhas. Within this, there are also two parts: first, giving examples from the four directions; afterwards, giving general examples. Here in the first: the western direction adduces three buddhas, the eastern direction adduces five buddhas, the southern direction also adduces five buddhas, and the northern direction adduces eight buddhas.
