Sūtra: "Therefore, good sons, whatever offerings are arranged before the Three Jewels cannot serve as a comparison. Entreating [others] to receive the three refuges, to uphold all precepts without violation, and making the three types of karmas not in vain, cannot serve as a comparison. According to the power, capacity, aspirations, and joys of all sentient beings in all worlds, entreating them to generate the mind of bodhi within the three vehicles cannot serve as a comparison. Causing all sentient beings in all worlds across the three periods of time to be unhindered and swiftly achieve immeasurable merit cannot serve as a comparison. Causing all sentient beings in the lands of the three periods of time to be without obstacles and attain sambodhi cannot serve as a comparison. Entreating all sentient beings in the lands of the three periods of time to swiftly emerge from the suffering of the four evil destinies cannot serve as a comparison. Entreating all sentient beings in the lands of the three periods of time to eradicate extremely grave evil karmas cannot serve as a comparison. Entreating them to be liberated from all afflictions and suffering cannot serve as a comparison. Causing them all to be released from all fears, afflictions, and oppressions cannot serve as a comparison. Entreating them to rejoice in and make bodhi-vows for all the merits of all sentient beings before the buddhas of the three periods of time cannot serve as a comparison. Entreating the eradication of evil actions and karmas of reviling and insulting, wishing that all merits be accomplished, in wherever one is born entreating offerings, respect, and praise toward all the Three Jewels, and entreating sentient beings to purely cultivate meritorious practices to consummate bodhi cannot serve as a comparison. Therefore you should know that entreating the Three Jewels of the three periods of time in all worlds, entreating the fulfillment of the six pāramitās, entreating the turning of the unexcelled wheel of the Dharma, and entreating them to abide in the world for immeasurable kalpas to expound immeasurable, profound, and sublime Dharmas—the merit thereof is extremely profound, such that none can compare to it."
