4.187

贊曰：順釋。有二：初釋、後勸。有三所以，能聽聞者不退菩提。一是能就不退善根，即是未熟能熟；二是第一法印，即是先熟印令不退；三是諸經王。「故應」下勸。

The commentary says: This is the direct explanation. There are two parts: first the explanation, then the exhortation. There are three reasons why those who can hear it do not regress from bodhi: first, it can accomplish the roots of goodness of non-retrogression, which means ripening what is not yet ripe; second, it is the foremost Dharma-seal, which means sealing what is already ripe to prevent regression; third, it is the king of scriptures. Below "therefore, one should" is the exhortation.
