下約生空問。眾生謂我，我體是無，但假和合，猶如幻事無實可得，可知。

Below, he asks with respect to the emptiness of sentient beings. "Sentient beings" refers to the self; the essence of the self is non-existent, being merely a provisional combination, just like an illusion with nothing real that can be apprehended, as is understood.
