4.275

贊曰：下三頌十六讚佛二十二世尊常光面各一尋相。於中分三：初一頌光照隨緣、次一頌滅諸生苦、後一頌能與其樂。初也。《大般若》云「如來身光任運能照三千世界，作意能照無邊世界。為愍有情攝光常照面各一尋。」即卷舒隨緣皆為利物。

Commentary: The following three verses are the sixteenth [section], praising the Buddha's twenty-second mark, that the World-Honoured One's constant radiance extends one fathom in each direction. It is divided into three parts: first, one verse on the radiance shining according to conditions; next, one verse on extinguishing the sufferings of various births; and last, one verse on the ability to bestow joy. This is the first. The Mahāprajñāpāramitā-sūtra says: "The radiance of the Tathāgata's body can spontaneously illuminate three thousand worlds, and with deliberate attention it can illuminate boundless worlds. Out of compassion for sentient beings, he restrains the light so that it constantly shines one fathom in each direction." Thus, extending and contracting according to conditions are both for the benefit of beings.
