Sūtra: 'May I, in future ages, / Being born through measureless and countless eons, / Constantly see in dreams the great golden drum / And hear the proclaimed sound of confession, / Praising the Buddha's virtues as likened to the lotus. / May I realize the unarisen and achieve right awakening; / Buddhas appear in the world only once in a while, / Extremely difficult to encounter in hundreds of thousands of eons. / In the night dreams may I constantly hear the wondrous sound of the drum, / And during the day practice confession accordingly. / I shall cultivate the six perfections to completeness, / Deliver sentient beings out of the ocean of suffering, / And afterwards achieve unsurpassable awakening. / May my buddha-field be pure and inconceivable. / Offering the wondrous golden drum to the Tathāgata, / And praising the real virtues of all buddhas, / Due to this may I behold Śākyamuni Buddha, / Who will prophesy that I shall succeed the Honoured One among humans. / Golden Dragon and Golden Light are my sons, / Who in the past were good spiritual friends; / In life after life may they be born in my household, / Together receiving the prophecy of unsurpassable bodhi. / If there are sentient beings without protector or shelter, / Transmigrating in the long night and undergoing manifold sufferings, / May I become a refuge for them in future ages, / Causing them to attain peace and joy. / May the sufferings of the three realms of existence be destroyed, / And may all attain a place of peace and joy as they desire; / Cultivating bodhi in future ages, / May all become buddhas just like those of the past. / By the merit of this golden light confession, / May the ocean of suffering be forever drained and sins eradicated; / May karmic hindrances and afflictions all perish, / Enabling me swiftly to attain the pure fruit. / The ocean of merit and wisdom is boundless in measure, / Pure, free from defilement, and bottomlessly profound; / May I obtain this ocean of virtue, / And quickly achieve unsurpassable mahābodhi. / By the power of this golden light confession, / May I attain the pure radiance of merit, / And having attained pure, wondrous radiance, / May I constantly illuminate all with the light of wisdom. / May the radiance of my body equal all buddhas, / And my merit and wisdom likewise be the same; / Acclaimed the sole Honoured One in all worlds, / In majesty and mastery without peer. / May I transcend the contaminated ocean of suffering, / May I constantly roam the unconditioned ocean of joy, / May my present ocean of merit ever overflow, / And may my future ocean of wisdom be perfected. / May my land surpass the three realms, / Its superior virtues boundless in measure; / May all those with karmic affinity be born there together, / All swiftly achieving pure wisdom.'
