Regarding the chapter 'Clarifying Emptiness Anew', there are three approaches to the analysis: first, the intention behind its presentation; second, explaining the title; third, resolving difficulties. Regarding the intention behind its presentation: earlier, chapters such as 'The Lifespan' explained the fruits of the Great Vehicle; from 'Repentance in a Dream' onwards, the practices of the Great Vehicle were explained. The practices of the Great Vehicle arise relying on an objective cognitive domain. Although emptiness was briefly explained in the previous chapters, it was not extensively and directly discriminated. Now, in order to clarify the objective cognitive domain, this chapter comes next. Furthermore, although the previous chapters briefly explained emptiness, they mostly spoke of the practice of existence; fearing that they might cling to existence so that the two grasping views would be difficult to eliminate, the three wheels would not be complete, and the six perfections would be difficult to fulfill, now the twofold emptiness of self and phenomena is extensively clarified to cause them once again to eliminate the two graspings. Once the three wheels have attained purity, the six perfections will be able to reach the other shore; therefore, this chapter arises.
