贊曰：品文分三，一初結集敘說所因、二佛為重陳空義、三時眾獲益慶躍奉行。此初也。初結前文即說呪已。二所利器，即利菩薩。三標所悟，即第一義。云真實者，簡諸小乘所說第一義諦，彼非實故。四顯慈悲，即重明空性。

Commentary: The text of the chapter is divided into three: first, the compilers narrating the cause for preaching it; second, the Buddha presenting anew the meaning of emptiness for them; third, the assembly at that time obtaining benefits, rejoicing, leaping, and practicing it. This is the first. First, concluding the previous text, that is, 'having spoken this mantra'. Second, the vessels who receive benefit, that is, benefiting the bodhisattvas. Third, identifying what is awakened to, that is, the ultimate truth. The phrase 'profound and real' distinguishes it from the ultimate truth spoken of by the Śrāvakayāna, for that is not the real. Fourth, displaying great compassion, that is, 'clarified the nature of emptiness anew'.
