贊曰：明起說因。以善方便為作勝因緣。明者解也，令彼解空義。
The Commentary says: This explains the cause for giving the exposition. Through excellent upāya he creates supreme causes and conditions. 'Understand' means to comprehend; it causes them to comprehend the meaning of emptiness.
