贊曰：合初見執實喻。初合執有、後合不了無。初也。若見若聞，行謂有為、非行謂無為，便生執實，合初遇境時。如是思惟便生執實，合後不能審察。

The commentary says: This applies the simile of grasping reality upon first seeing. First, it applies the grasping of existence; second, it applies the failure to discern non-existence. This is the first. 'Whenever they see or hear': 'conditioned' refers to saṃskṛta; 'unconditioned' refers to asaṃskṛta; immediately giving rise to grasping them as real applies to the moment when first encountering an object. 'Reflecting in this manner, they immediately give rise to grasping them as real' applies to subsequently being unable to investigate thoroughly.
