贊曰：次校量。初校量勝、次勸持學。就初又三：一舉劣度、二明持經、三正校量。初也。雖行六度無二方便，謂拔濟、迴向，此經令修發願迴向。又此經明無住方便故。問：若不迴向，何得名度？非七最勝所攝受故，各據餘攝受說。或相似六度。

Commentary: Next is the comparison. First, it compares the superiority; next, it exhorts to uphold and learn. Under the first, there are again three parts: first, presenting the inferior perfections; second, clarifying upholding the sūtra; third, the comparison itself. This is the first. Although practicing the six perfections, they lack two kinds of upāya, namely rescue and dedication; this sūtra causes one to cultivate the generation of vows and dedication. Furthermore, this sūtra illuminates the upāya of non-abiding. Question: If one does not dedicate, how can they be called perfections? Because they are not embraced by the seven supreme qualities, this is stated based on other embracements; alternatively, they are facsimile six perfections.
