4.77

經　「善男子！復依五法，菩薩摩訶薩成就勤策波羅蜜。云何為五？一者與諸煩惱不樂共住、二者福德未具不受安樂、三者於諸難行苦行之事不生厭心、四者以大慈悲攝受利益方便成熟一切眾生、五者願求不退轉地。善男子！是名菩薩摩訶薩成就勤策波羅蜜。」

Sūtra: “Good son! Furthermore, relying on five dharmas, a bodhisattva mahāsattva accomplishes the diligence (vīrya) pāramitā. What are the five? First, not delighting in dwelling together with afflictions; second, not accepting comfort and ease when merit is not yet complete; third, not giving rise to weariness in difficult and ascetic practices; fourth, with great love and compassion, gathering in and benefiting sentient beings through upāya to mature all of them; fifth, vowing and seeking the irreversible stage (avaivartika-bhūmi). Good son! This is called a bodhisattva mahāsattva accomplishing the diligence pāramitā.”
