贊曰：大文分六，一佛標名宗、二問答名體、三請佛陳說、四讚仰為宣、五顯勝勸修、六聞教喜學。此即初也。有七：一明教主；二所逗機；三標呪名；四指應學；五舉曾勸；六明學意，以是菩薩母故，過去菩薩皆悉已學故，今菩薩所應修行；七結前標。文段可悉。

The Commentary says: The main text is divided into six sections: first, the Buddha indicates the name and essential theme; second, questions and answers on the name and essence; third, requesting the Buddha to state and explain it; fourth, praising and revering in order to expound it; fifth, revealing its superiority to encourage practice; sixth, hearing the teaching and joyfully learning it. This is the first section. It has seven parts: first, clarifying the teacher of the doctrine; second, the capacity addressed; third, indicating the name of the incantation; fourth, pointing out what ought to be studied; fifth, citing past encouragement; sixth, clarifying the intent of study, because it is the mother of bodhisattvas, and past bodhisattvas have all already studied it, so present bodhisattvas ought to practice it; seventh, concluding the preceding designation. The textual divisions can be understood.
