5.53

贊曰：正願守護。有三：一所護之人、二「見於四眾」下明得護所以、三「我等四王」下廣明護相。得護因中，有二：初明王得遇勝緣、二「恭敬」下明正修勝行。

Commentary: The actual vow to protect. There are three parts: 1. the persons protected; 2. from "sees members of the fourfold assembly" onward, explaining the reason for obtaining protection; 3. from "we four kings" onward, extensively explaining the marks of protection. Within the causes for obtaining protection, there are two: first, explaining that the king encounters supreme conditions; second, from "reveres" onward, explaining the proper cultivation of supreme practice.
