釋名者，為求大覺，悲智常修，遇苦良田誓捐身命不保尊位，俯救倒懸，難施能行，標為品號，云〈捨身品〉。

Regarding the explanation of the name: In order to seek great awakening, compassion and wisdom are constantly cultivated; upon meeting the fertile field of suffering, one vows to surrender bodily life without clinging to noble status, stooping to rescue those hanging upside down, able to practice the difficult giving. It is designated as the chapter title and called the "Chapter on Relinquishing the Body."
