6.28

解妨者，問：既言此品正勸今眾令行學者，何故聞說但有諸天歡喜擁護，不說四眾及以修行？答：文影略故。前標告云「即為諸天及諸大眾」，下文復云「及諸天等聞佛所說皆大歡喜」，喜歡即含修行義也。

Regarding resolving objections: Question: Since it is said that this chapter directly exhorts the present assembly to carry out study and practice, why is it that upon hearing the teaching, only the devas rejoice and offer protection, without mentioning the four assemblies and their practice? Answer: Because the text implies and omits. Earlier it stated by way of address: "for the sake of the devas and the great assembly"; below it also states: "and the devas, having heard what the Buddha said, were all exceedingly joyful." Joy implicitly contains the meaning of practice.
