Sūtra: "Good sons, furthermore, relying on five things, bodhisattva-mahāsattvas accomplish upāyapāramitā. What are the five? First, completely penetrating the mental inclinations, afflictions, and diverse movements of mind of all sentient beings; second, mentally comprehending the antidotal approaches to immeasurable dharmas; third, freely entering and emerging from the meditative absorption of great compassion; fourth, aspiring to cultivate, mature, and fulfill all pāramitās; fifth, aspiring to comprehend and embrace all buddha-dharmas without remainder. Good sons, this is called the bodhisattva-mahāsattva's accomplishment of the supreme wisdom of upāyapāramitā.
Good sons, furthermore, relying on five things, bodhisattva-mahāsattvas accomplish praṇidhānapāramitā. What are the five? First, the mind stably abiding in all dharmas as fundamentally unborn and unceasing, neither existing nor non-existing; second, the mind stably abiding in contemplating the most wondrous principle of all dharmas as pure and free from defilement; third, the mind stably abiding in transcending all characteristics, with mind fundamentally tathatā, uncreated, inactive, undifferentiated, and unmoving; fourth, the mind stably abiding in conventional truth for the sake of benefiting all sentient beings; fifth, the mind stably abiding in practicing śamatha and vipaśyanā simultaneously. Good sons, this is called the bodhisattva-mahāsattva's accomplishment of praṇidhānapāramitā.
Good sons, furthermore, relying on five things, bodhisattva-mahāsattvas accomplish balapāramitā. What are the five? First, through the power of correct wisdom, being able to understand the wholesome and unwholesome movements of mind of all sentient beings; second, being able to cause all sentient beings to enter into profound and wondrous dharmas; third, in accordance with their conditions and karmic actions, truly knowing the saṃsāric transmigration of all sentient beings; fourth, through the power of correct wisdom, being able to discern and know the three faculties of sentient beings; fifth, explaining according to the principle for sentient beings, causing them to plant wholesome roots, mature, and cross over to liberation—all being due to the power of wisdom. Good sons, this is called the bodhisattva-mahāsattva's accomplishment of balapāramitā.
Good sons, furthermore, relying on five things, bodhisattva-mahāsattvas accomplish jñānapāramitā. What are the five? First, being able to distinguish wholesome and unwholesome among all dharmas; second, abandoning dark dharmas and embracing white dharmas; third, neither loathing nor delighting in saṃsāra and nirvāṇa; fourth, being endowed with practices of merit and wisdom and arriving at the ultimate state; fifth, receiving the supreme consecration and being able to attain the unshared dharmas of all buddhas and the omniscient wisdom. Good sons, this is called the bodhisattva-mahāsattva's accomplishment of jñānapāramitā."
