1.429

'Perfuming' means perfuming and heating. 'Alteration' means transforming and changing. 'Inconceivable perfuming' means fully turning the true into the false. 'Inconceivable alteration' means fully turning principle into phenomena. The true and false are not identical, yet phenomena and principle are one in substance; without perfuming it perfumes, without altering it alters, beyond mental thought and verbal expression. Such perfuming and alteration become the causes of the manifesting consciousness.
