種種塵者，六塵也。取者，六根取六塵而起愛見也。無始妄想熏者，無始以來起此愛見妄想，熏成事識，是為因也。

'Diverse sensory data' refers to the six sensory objects. 'Grasping' means the six faculties grasping the six sensory objects and giving rise to craving and views. 'Beginningless perfuming of vikalpa' means that from beginningless time, the arising of such vikalpa of craving and views perfumes and forms the objective consciousness, serving as its cause.
