1.687

自性空者，謂於當念觀一切所生之法無自生性，名自性空。前已空性，此復言性空者，前乃推檢入空，故性相俱相，約修說也。此則本自二空，故性相俱性，約性說也。

As for the emptiness of self-nature, it means observing in the present thought that all produced dharmas have no nature of self-arising; this is called the emptiness of self-nature. Previously nature was already emptied; that it speaks again of the emptiness of nature here is because the former entered emptiness through investigation, so both nature and characteristics were characteristics, explained in terms of cultivation. This, however, is fundamentally the two kinds of emptiness, so both nature and characteristics are nature, explained in terms of nature.
