"Furthermore, Mahāmati! Except for illusion, there is nothing similar to see all dharmas as like an illusion." Mahāmati addressed the Buddha, saying, "World-Honoured One, is it because of clinging to various illusory marks that you say all dharmas are like an illusion? Or is it because of clinging to different marks? If it is because of clinging to various illusory marks that you say all natures are like an illusion, World-Honoured One, there would be natures that are not like an illusion. Why is that? Because the various marks of form are not causes. World-Honoured One, there is no form whose various marks appear like an illusion due to a cause. World-Honoured One, therefore there is no similarity to clinging to various illusory marks such that their nature is like an illusion."
