2.98

攀緣如禪是頓教菩薩所修者，《入楞伽》謂緣真如禪。緣即觀也，真如即理，謂觀理將除妄想。妄想者，乃人法二執。二無我者，空二執之觀也。若但分別心存取捨，是為妄想。若了二執當體即空，無所待對，是為如實處不生妄想也。

The dhyāna of focusing on suchness is practiced by bodhisattvas of the sudden teaching. In *Entering Laṅkā* it is called 'dhyāna focusing on tathatā.' Focusing means contemplation; tathatā is the principle. It means contemplating the principle in order to eliminate conceptual discrimination. Conceptual discrimination refers to the two attachments to self and dharmas. The two selflessnesses are the contemplations that empty the two attachments. If the discriminating mind merely retains acceptance and rejection, that is conceptual discrimination. If one comprehends that the two attachments are themselves inherently empty and have no dualistic counterparts, that is 'not generating conceptual discrimination at the place of true reality.'
