'As the World-Honoured One has said,' and so forth: here Mahāmati takes up the intent of the various vikalpas spoken of by the Tathāgata to frame the beginning of his question. 'Various' directly refers to those various vikalpas. However, all dharmas originally have no real nature; they are merely falsely conceptualized. Yet Mahāmati still has doubts, meaning: if it is only the svabhāva of vikalpa and dharmas do not possess svabhāva, and this svabhāva and non-svabhāva are mutually relative, does this not mean that the defiled and pure dharmas spoken of by the World-Honoured One are all without real nature? Mahāmati's intention is to raise an objection on the grounds that all dharmas have no svabhāva while vikalpa has a svabhāva.
