佛告大慧：「非我說空法非性，亦不墮有見說聖智自性事，然為令眾生離恐怖句故。眾生無始以來計著性自性相、聖智事自性計著相見，說空法。大慧！我不說性自性相。大慧！但我住自得如實空法，離惑亂相見，離自心現性非性見，得三解脫，如實印所印，於性自性得緣自覺觀察住，離有無事見相。」

The Buddha told Mahāmati: "It is not that I speak of the Dharma of emptiness as having no svabhāva, nor do I fall into the view of existence in speaking of the svabhāva-entity of noble knowledge. Rather, it is to cause sentient beings to be free from fearful phrases. Because sentient beings from beginningless time have grasped at the characteristics of the svabhāva of entities, and at the views grasping at the characteristics of the svabhāva-entity of noble knowledge, I speak of the Dharma of emptiness. Mahāmati, I do not speak of the characteristics of the svabhāva of entities. Mahāmati, I only abide in the Dharma of emptiness as it truly is, which I have attained by myself, free from the views and characteristics of delusion and confusion, free from the views of existence and non-existence as the appearance of one's own mind; having attained the three liberations, sealed by the seal of reality as it is, regarding the svabhāva of entities having attained the abiding in observation through one's own awakening to conditions, free from the characteristics and views of existent and nonexistent entities."
