4.108

色異性現者，色即四大所造之色，謂色體變異故，無常性現，以現處為壞，非四大種壞。如金作具，具有變壞而金性不改。言無常事壞性不壞，亦如是也。

'The different natures of form appear': 'form' is the form created by the four great elements; it means that because the substance of form transforms, the nature of impermanence appears, with the location of appearance being destroyed, while the four great elements do not perish. Just as gold made into utensils: the utensils undergo change and destruction, yet the nature of the gold does not alter. Saying that the impermanent phenomena perish while the nature does not perish is also like this.
