我於此下，指往昔所說經為證。如來之說本不假證，但於彼經已曾廣明，故茲略說得以指之。《入楞伽》云：「我與勝鬘夫人及餘深妙淨智菩薩說如來藏名識藏，與七識俱起，令諸聲聞見法無我。」故勝鬘下，文顯可見。言莫但聞覺作知足想者，言如來藏識藏是佛境界，非三慧具足，莫能造詣，戒勸修學良在此也。

From 'Concerning this...' downward, he points to sūtras spoken in the past as testimony. The Tathāgata's exposition fundamentally does not rely on testimony, but since he had already explained it extensively in that sūtra, here he points to it in brief. The *Ru lengqie* says: 'To Queen Śrīmālā and other bodhisattvas of profound and pure wisdom, I explained the tathāgatagarbha called the storehouse consciousness, arising together with the seven consciousnesses, to cause the śrāvakas to see the selflessness of dharmas.' From 'Thus Queen Śrīmālā...' downward, the text is clear to see. Saying 'do not merely take hearing and perception as sufficient knowledge' means that the tathāgatagarbha that is the storehouse consciousness is the realm of the Buddhas, and unless one is complete in the three wisdoms, none can reach it; the admonition to cultivate and learn truly lies herein.
