In the answer it is stated that there are three kinds of the six pāramitās. First, the mundane six pāramitās: speaking of grasping and clinging to 'I' and 'mine', this refers to the practice of ordinary beings, which has four faults. First, grasping 'I' and 'mine', they lack the intention to liberate sentient beings. Second, clinging to the two extremes, they cannot reach the other shore of the Middle Way. Third, seeking superior recompense, they do not escape birth and death. Fourth, delighting in and clinging to the six sense-objects, it is not giving that abides nowhere in characteristics. The tīrthikas' attainment of the five supernormal powers and rebirth in the Brahma heaven are also obtained through cultivating these mundane six pāramitās without outflows.
