「大慧！金剛力士所隨護者，是化佛耳，非真如來。大慧！真如來者，離一切根量，一切凡夫、聲聞、緣覺及外道根量悉滅，得現法樂，住無間法智忍，故非金剛力士所護。一切化佛不從業生，化佛者，非佛不離佛，因陶家輪等眾生所作相而說法，非自通處說自覺境界。」

'Mahāmati! The one who is followed and protected by the Vajra-wielder is merely an Emanation Buddha, not the true Tathāgata. Mahāmati! The true Tathāgata is free from all sense-faculties and measures; all sense-faculties and measures of common persons, śrāvakas, pratyekabuddhas, and tīrthikas are entirely extinguished [in him]. He attains the bliss of the present Dharma and abides in the intellectual receptivity of uninterrupted Dharma; therefore he is not protected by the Vajra-wielder. All Emanation Buddhas are not born of karma; an Emanation Buddha is not the Buddha, yet not apart from the Buddha. He preaches the Dharma on the basis of the characteristics of what sentient beings make, like a potter's wheel, and does not preach from the realm of his own mastery, the realm of his own realization.'
