4.83

「如醫療眾病，無有若干論，
以病差別故，為設種種治。
我為彼眾生，破壞諸煩惱，
知其根優劣，為彼說度門。
非煩惱根異，而有種種法，
唯說一乘法，是則為大乘。」

"Just as a physician treating manifold illnesses
Has no diverse theories,
Yet because illnesses differ,
Sets forth various treatments,
So I, in order to destroy
The afflictions of those sentient beings,
Knowing the superiority and inferiority of their faculties,
Teach for them gates of deliverance.
It is not that afflictions and faculties differ
And therefore there are various dharmas;
Teaching only the one-vehicle Dharma:
This is the Great Vehicle."
