Baochen's Commentary on the Entry into Laṅkā says: "The verses that follow ask about the meaning of the one hundred and eight statements: some take one line as a question, some take two lines as a question, some take three lines as a question, up to ten lines as a question, or one line as two questions. However, these one hundred and eight statements precisely inquire into the five dharmas, the three svabhāvas, the eight consciousnesses, the two kinds of selflessness, and the counteractive approaches for delivering sentient beings." Therefore, Mahāmati brings up what he saw above when travelling with Mati through the Buddha-lands; thus below he asks about mountains, oceans, the sun, the moon, and so forth, which are nāma, lakṣaṇa, and vikalpa among the five dharmas; below he asks about the meditations, liberations, and so forth, which are samyagjñāna and tathatā among the five dharmas.
