Regarding "Spoken words are deployed distinctly" and so forth: this means that the verbal teachings are established in response to capacities, and reality does not reside in the verbal teachings. Because reality is fundamentally free from words and names, that discriminations are made is to respond to beginners—"beginners" refers to those who have newly resolved their minds [on bodhi]. If there are those with minds of reality, then one reveals the teaching of reality to them, causing them to practice; and when they awaken to reality, then both that which is cognized and that which cognizes are dismissed, how much more so spoken words?
