The noble ones understand that the skandhas are like illusions. Although they manifest various forms, they are free from the designated views of difference and non-difference, like manifesting a man's body in a dream or shadow: none have real substance, so how could there be difference or non-difference! Yet the views of difference and non-difference are the vikalpa of ordinary people; the reason the Buddha can be free from them is that he realizes that the substance of the skandhas of ordinary people and noble ones is fundamentally non-dual. Therefore, it says: "the realm of noble wisdom is the same as the appearance of skandha-vikalpa." If ordinary people wish to return to the original substance, they must keep far away from the nature and lakṣaṇas of skandha-delusion; hence it says, "You should eliminate it." If deluded clinging is eliminated, peace will then become manifest; hence one can further expound this peaceful Dharma and stay far away from all views of tīrthikas. When expounding this Dharma, having already parted from clinging to the self of dharmas, one can then enter the Immovable Stage, obtain immeasurable samādhis and all Dharma gates, and universally rescue all classes of beings, just as the earth supports and nurtures them.
