10.40

此五教中，若以大小為對，則初一為小，後四為大；若約權實為對，前二為權，後三為實；若以頓漸為對，前三皆漸，後二為頓；若以偏圓為對，前四皆偏，後一為圓。而前前不攝後後、後後必收前前，此約同教說也；

Among these five teachings, if paired as Great and Small, then the first one is small and the latter four are great; if paired as provisional and real, the former two are provisional and the latter three are real; if paired as sudden and gradual, the former three are gradual and the latter two are sudden; if paired as partial and complete, the former four are partial and the latter one is complete. And the former ones do not subsume the latter ones, while the latter ones necessarily include the former ones; this is spoken from the perspective of the identical teaching.
