The above collectively answers the one hundred and eight phrases from the perspective of the gateway of the mind as tathatā. As for the repeated statements of 'non-', it is as Aśvaghoṣa says: "It should be understood that the intrinsic nature of tathatā is neither having marks nor lacking marks; neither not having marks nor not lacking marks; nor both having and lacking marks; neither a single mark nor different marks; neither not a single mark nor not different marks; nor both a single and different marks." Since the beginning, all defiled phenomena and all sentient beings—because they possess a deluded mind with thought-to-thought vikalpa—are entirely non-consonant with it. Thus, it is the true mind, eternally changeless, fully replete with pure phenomena, yet without any marks that can be grasped, because it is a realm free from thought, consonant only with realization.
