若言泥團與微塵實異者，泥團應非微塵所成，而實彼成，故不可言異也。若實不異者，則泥團與微塵應無分別；既其因果麁細有殊，亦不可言一也。

If one were to say that the lump of clay and the fine particles of dust are truly different, then the lump of clay should not be formed of fine particles of dust; yet in reality it is formed of them, so one cannot say they are different. If they were truly not different, then there should be no distinction between the lump of clay and the fine particles of dust; since their causes and effects, coarse and subtle, are distinct, one cannot say they are identical either.
