Those who give rise to evil views do not go beyond the two assemblies of householders and renunciants; nor do they go beyond the two assemblies of the two vehicles and non-Buddhists. "Non-existence" means reckoning space or nature (svabhāva) to be the cause; and "existence" means reckoning subtle atoms, prakṛti, Maheśvara, and the like to be the cause. That is reckoning causelessness or wrong causes to be the productive cause. Outside of correct cause and effect, they reckon manifested things to abide dependent on time—all of which are reckoned by non-Buddhists. Or they reckon that the five skandhas, eighteen dhātus, and twelve āyatanas arise and abide relying on causes and conditions, being impermanent and changing, perishing as soon as they have arisen, not understanding the eternally abiding true mind—this is what the two vehicles reckon. All are deluded about what is manifested by their own minds.
