次引喻明。言如瓶已破，不作瓶用事，以譬無種則無法，不作陰界入因事。又如雖有燋種不作芽事，以譬雖有自在天等為種，不能作陰、界、入相續生因事。

Next, analogies are cited to clarify this. Saying that just as a broken pot cannot perform the utility and function of a pot—this is an analogy for how without a seed there is no phenomenon, and it cannot perform the causal function for the skandhas, dhātus, and āyatanas. Furthermore, just as even if there is a scorched seed it cannot perform the function of sprouting—this is an analogy for how although there is Maheśvara and the like posited as a seed, he cannot perform the causal function for the continuous arising of the skandhas, dhātus, and āyatanas.
