2.22

問：佛名義也，隨機赴感應化佛；酬其往因名報佛；體性無二真如佛；本覺顯照智慧佛。

[Mahāmati] asks about the names and meanings of the Buddhas: responding to conditions and manifesting forms according to capacity is called the nirmāṇakāya Buddha; recompensing past causes is called the saṃbhogakāya Buddha; the non-dual essence is the tathatā Buddha; and original awakening shining forth is the wisdom Buddha.
